A Legacy of Commitment to the Neighborhood
For half a century, our family has proudly supported professionals and entrepreneurs in pursuing their dreams on College Avenue. This proposed project, with its increased size and scope, allows us to continue this legacy, offering even more individuals the chance to thrive. The diverse range of permitted uses at this site creates a vibrant ecosystem of opportunity, fostering growth and success for generations to come.
A Legacy of Adaptation on College Avenue
This property has been a cornerstone of our family since 1974. We transformed it from a neglected space into a thriving hub for local businesses, providing opportunities for restaurants, retail, and, for the past 30 years, psychotherapy practices.
The ever-evolving nature of College Avenue necessitates continuous adaptation. The recent approval of a daycare center at 5315 College Avenue, while positive for the community, presents challenges for the quiet environment required by psychotherapy offices.
Unfortunately, the daycare's proposed sound mitigation measures are insufficient to maintain the peaceful atmosphere our tenants have relied on for decades. When the daycare project was submitted, we informed the community that changes to our business model might be necessary to ensure the continued viability of our property. These plans represent the necessary changes to solve for the problem of unmitigated sound coming from the Child Day Care.
Stay tuned for updates on ownership application process.
Together, let's build a thriving future for Oakland.
